Show Me: Mailbox

Robert over at Thoughts of a Father started a new project called "Show Me". Each day this week we all share certain objects from our daily life. Stop by his blog if you'd like to participate and to see the other entries.
Today's challenge is our mailbox.

I love getting snail mail! Always have. Well, as long as it's not bills and junk. My box is the closest. We live in a subdivision where all the mailboxes are uniform (black, plastic mounted on these wooden posts), except for a few here and there that have had to be replaced. Like the one next to ours which is metal. The hinges on the plastic door aren't very sturdy so some have had to replace their box. The wooden box underneath is for newspapers. They also get filled with flyers, catalogs and junk from local businesses.

Very interesting angle! Some people here have special boxes for newspapers as well.

Looking forward to tomorrow's kitchen post!

LOVE the angle....

The angle gives this shot an interesting perspective. Not much else you can do in the land of "all mailboxes must be created equal". [shakes head] And this is the land of the free?

Great angle. It's nice that they give you actual mailboxes. Some subdivisions only give you those tiny pods of metal boxes.

I know it thwarts creativity, but I think uniform mailboxes are a good thing. Yours appears to be a very good design. Thanks for visiting...stop by again for an update to my mailbox saga.

Snail mail is fun as long as it's not bills, etc.... Alas, for me, that's usually what it is. That and catalogs that add up to thousands of dead trees.

Love your photography, I think I'm starting to see this is my real passion too. Just need to get a camera that will help me realise it!

Thanks for stopping by my blog on the BATW tour to New Zealand.
