Project 52: Week 7 {Open Your Heart}

Open Your Heart

I had ours names engraved on this little mirror back when my husband and I were first dating.  To make a relationship and marriage work you really need to "open your hearts" to each other.

Scavenger Hunt 101 {#17 Fire}

Fire

Sometimes you need a little firebon* to warm you up on those cold Wisconsin nights!

*Firebon is the "term" we've used since my youngest daughter started talking.  The elementary school my kids went to had an annual bonfire in October to kick off the school year.  When we first started going she would call it a firebon instead of a bonfire.  We couldn't get her to say it the right way and it has just been a part of our family ever since!

Project 52: Week 6 {Words}

Words

So I think I jinxed myself last week when I said that the themes have been easier than I thought.  Because this week when I saw the theme I figured it would be so easy!  Well, turns out it's the one that gave me the most grief so far!  lol

I had a couple ideas but ultimately went with the words on my vintage camera.  I also thought it would be a great opportunity to finally start my 100 possibilities project that I decided to do.
Basically, you pick one object and photograph it in 100 different ways.  When I received this camera for Christmas from hubby I finally knew this was the object to use!

Here is a photo of me he took Christmas Day 2010 with the camera.

Project 52: Week 5 {Muse}

This weeks theme was "muse".  I always seem to panic when I see the theme thinking "what am I gonna do for that?".  But so far so good, I've been able to come up with something each week.  Hopefully I can keep it up.  Only 47 more to go!

Muse

There are a few different definitions of the word muse.  These are the two that go with what I was thinking with this photo.

verb:  to become absorbed in thought; especially : to turn something over in the mind meditatively and often inconclusively

She had gone outside to help daddy shovel and when I looked out to check on her she was staring at the icicles hanging from the roof.  Trying to figure out a way to reach them!

noun: : a source of inspiration; especially : a guiding genius

She (along with her sister) has always been a source of inspiration.

Scavenger Hunt 101 {#6 Winter}

Winter

Took this right outside my front door.  It was warm and sunny enough over the weekend for a bit of snow to melt and drip off the house and form these icicles on our bush.

Icicle

This second icicle was one hanging from the roof.  Yes we still have our Christmas light up.  It's Wisconsin, they won't come down until June.  That is if it warms up by then!
I was shocked that I actually captured the droplets falling from it!
