Faces: Week 15 Self Portrait

This week's theme at iheartfaces self portrait. To enter this week you have to take a photo of yourself while holding the camera. No use of tripods. If you want proof that I did just look into my sunglasses! :-)

This was a hard one for me. It's hard enough looking at photos of me that others take but trying to take one myself that I'm OK with is something else! I deleted a lot of photos! Plus it ain't easy even getting a decent photo when you're blindly pointing the camera at yourself!

I took this one last week on our family road trip. I decided to use picnik this week and applied the Holga-ish effect. It replicates the effect of using a Holga camera

Soda Can

I reluctantly let my younger (9 yo) daughter snap a few photos yesterday. I have issues letting other people hold/use my camera! LOL The first week I got it my mother-in-law just about dropped it and I've been paranoid ever since.

Anyway, I thought I'd share one that she took. She was photographing this can from all different angles. I thought this one turned out pretty good.

Faces: Week 13 My Friend and I

This week's theme at iheartfaces is "My friend and I". This is my oldest daughter (bottom) and one of her BFFs. They thought my request for them to lay like this on the floor was weird. This time I'm putting her in the adult category, I think it's a better fit since most of the kid photos are of much younger kids.

A little late today, but I'm here! This week's photohunt theme is stripes. Wasn't able to get out and get new photo so this is from our visit to the zoo last October. I stood there for the longest time waiting for this zebra to turn around but he wouldn't budge!

Faces: Week 11 No Flash

Here is my entry for this week's iheartfaces contest in the adult category. This week's theme is no flash. I love this pic of my hubby. But I'm not sure if I like the reflections on his sunglasses and I'm not sure how or if it can be fixed. Any suggestions?

Wisconsin Lighthouse {North Point, Milwaukee}

I was flipping through a Wisconsin Recreation guide a couple weeks ago and there was a section on lighthouses. I thought it may be fun to try to find as many as I could and photograph them. There are a total of 35 listed, some are pretty far north and only accessible by boat so I'm not sure if I'll ever get to all of them, but it will be fun to see how many I can get to. I also found a website that lists lighthouses by state. Looks like there may be few more besides those listed in the book.

We visited the first one last week and have plans to get to some more over the next few months as the weather starts getting nicer. This is the North Point Lighthouse located in Milwaukee.
