Faces Week 38 {Blue}

Botanical Gardens

Yesterday hubby and I went to some nearby Botanical Gardens. It probably is not the best time of year to go. Many of the plants were dying and turning brown but I still got some good shots.

This last one is probably my favorite of the day.

Faces: Week 35 {Back to School}

It's been a few weeks since I entered.

This year my oldest started High School. I was so not ready for this! While taking a few pics on the front porch before school, dad had to get in on the action. She was trying to pose for me and had no idea he was making bunny ears behind her head.

Tennis

This is a photoblog.......maybe I should start posting some photos!

My daughter joined the High School tennis team this year. She really likes it and is doing well. After trying a few different sports and activities over the years, I think she has found her "thing".

Yesterday at the school she played the bleachers to watch tennis were on the outside of the fence which doesn't make for easy photography. So on her first match she played on the court that was back to back with the bleachers for the football field. We were able to get around there and climb to the top to take some shots from above.

Milwaukee Lighthouses

I had another chance last week to photograph a few lighthouses. This time on Milwaukee's lakefront. This is the Milwaukee Pierhead Lighthouse with the Milwaukee Breakwater Lighthouse in the background.

Camera Critters #69

Since our family visits the zoo quite a bit and I have tons of pictures of all types of critters, I thought I'd start joining in on the Camera Critters meme.

My daughter used my old digital camera yesterday. She had fun and was going a really good job so I'm posting a little comparison of the shots we took of the same animal.

Again I'm not really sure what this is, some type of ground hog or gopher maybe? He wasn't actually in an exhibit. There are quite a few wooded areas around the zoo and there are wildlife living through there. These came out of a hole that was next to the giraffe exhibit in a little flowered area.

They turned out pretty similiar because he didn't really move much. He just came out and stared at people like we were the ones on exhibit. And even though we each took a few shots the best of each of ours was almost the same!

Ground Hog!

Update 8-1-09: I know the title says ground hog....but after visiting the zoo again today I'm thinking this might be a Prairie Dog........or it could be something entirely different, I'm not good with animal names!

Looking through some photos I haven't posted and thought I'd get a new one up here. It's been a while. I need to get out and do some shooting. I really need to try to pick up my camera on a daily basis.

My daughter fell in love with this guy when we were at this zoo and had to put this photo as her cell phone wallpaper. So I decided to use it as her photo on mine......so this is what I see everytime she calls or texts me.

Faces: Week 27 {Feet Week}

I can't believe I'm posting this photo! But my hubby put me up to it and I promised I would. I was trying to think of something different and fun and asked if he would let me photograph his feet. I said something about ours together and calling it "Married Feet" so he insisted we should do it and put our wedding rings on our toes.

Faces: Week 27 {Sports In Action}

I'm entering both categories this week! A first for me! I had all these visions of getting the perfect shot of my daughter playing tennis. Yeah, so much easier said then done!
