I was in High School during the 80s so that decade is a big part of who I am. I don't have much left from that time but I still have my original Rubik's cube along with this book I bought that showed you how to solve it.

Oh I love those...♥
I think I have that same book around here somewhere! Love the eighties!!! Class of '82!
My 13 year old daughter got a Rubik's Cube for her birthday this year. We tried and tried to figure it out to no avail. We looked on the internet and found sites that told how to solve it, but even following those directions, still couldn't do it. Finally one day, another daughter was mad at another sister and threw the cube at her and broke it. The original sister was mad until she decided, now that it was broken, to glue it back together in the right spots so it was permanently in the right place. Problem solved.
The only solution I have is to take all the stickers off :)
LOL!! So did the book help? Or did you do it without? I never did manage to complete one of those. I don't even think I had one, but my son does.
Definitely remember trying to solve these but I never got more than two colors at a time.
I remember being in 6th grade. And Mrs. Williams would have contests on how quickly her students could solve the puzzle. I have no idea how they did it. I did it by peeling off the stickers and putting them where I needed them :-)
